Hot Dog's & blueberry's

Hot dog's,blueberry's and baked beans month! The fourth ingredient, "pickle"
Never had that combination..Our hot dog is just with sauerkraut and mustard or ketchup and onion. But with a little help and imagination I created a hot dog you've never seen before.
I can't find the original hot dog sandwich,so I used an ordinary similar sandwich.
The pickle was sliced very thin, with an peeler and dried in an oven on 90ºC for about 1 hour. Now this is amazing! a very crispy pickle.
For the sauce I used a can of baked beans 150gr,1 shallot (diced),2 cloves garlic (crushed), 50gr chorizo and 1 cup olerosso sherry.
Saute the garlic and shallot, add the beans and the sherry and let simmer for about 15 minutes.
Let it cool down and blend it untill you've got a sauce..Add some olerosso to smooth it.
I really didn't know what to do with the blueberry's and don't like them. But as a jam it's perfect.
For 100gr blueberry you need 100gr sugar, heat up and let it cook for 15 minutes.Serve with
carmellised walnut, and the blueberry sauce,on ice cream.

Enjoy!

Hanneke Eerden of The Dutchess Cooks – Entry Here
The Dutchess Cooks was started in 2010. After years of cooking, grilling, baking and reading other people’s blogs, I thought “why not start my own blog??” And I did, in 2010, but already after a short period of time, a blog wasn’t enough, and I started my own website. It’s not my goal to publish or come up with fancy and difficult recipes: just good and delicious food with an international twist! Straight from my plate to yours!
